The bank transfer in USD comprise only a small part of the monthly active users, Binance sources said.
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance is temporarily suspending bank transfers in US dollars as of Wednesday, the company confirmed to CoinDesk on Monday.
"We are temporarily suspending USD bank transfers as of February 8," a Binance spokesperson said, noting that only 0.01% of monthly active users use USD bank transfers. "Affected customers are being notified directly."
Meanwhile, all other methods of buying and selling cryptocurrencies will not be affected, including bank transfer using one of the other fiat currencies supported by Binance (including euros), buying and selling cryptocurrencies via credit card, debit card, Google Pay and Apple Pay and through our Binance P2P marketplace," the spokesperson added.
The American division of Binance, Binance.US , is not affected by the suspension, according to a tweet from Binance.US Customer service.
